Angelica Giangregorio:

Inspired by the words of Gandhi, “be the change you want to see in the world,” I have strived throughout my life’s journey to live by those words.

Actions speak louder than words and change does not happen by preaching to the choir. Change happens when we are presented with a choice and we take proactive steps that lead us into our desired and hopefully better outcome. A key element of change, is AWARENESS. Without awareness we stay “stuck” in our old repetitive patterns. It is in discovering and uncovering these non-productive patterns, through awareness, that we free and empower ourselves gaining new insights, knowledge and information, eventually creating and becoming the CHANGE.

PRO-ACTIVITY - POSSIBILITY - POSITIVITY

Although we can’t always see the “light at the end of the tunnel,”  in taking one single PROACTIVE step in our desired direction with a sense of trust and conviction, we know that there is a light and will eventually get so see it. As we follow our road, taking one baby step at a time, we empower ourselves and begin to experience a shift — we begin to see POSSIBILITY. As our path unfolds, we are then able to see the light and the beauty that was always there but were not able to see before. With our new perception of potential, we experience a state of POSITIVITY, motivated and empowered by our actions to continue in an upward spiral flow of pro-activity, possibility, and positivity.

Throughout my life, I have felt a burning desire to motivate and inspire young people to pursue their dreams and connect to their passion. I believe that having a passion and an outlet for creative expression in any human endeavor, connects us with our true voice. When young people are offered the opportunity to have a voice and be proactive, bringing awareness and creating a possibility for themselves and for others to follow in their footsteps, we create positive and sustainable change in our social consciousness.

I am passionate about creative expression, passionate about giving young people a voice, especially young people who for one reason or another have found themselves limited by society, culture and politics, and passionate about creating awareness and bringing about change.

Throughout my thirty year career as a Camerawoman in the Entertainment Industry, I have created independent workshops teaching creative arts as well as mentoring and guiding young people using their creative expression through Arts & Crafts, Photography, Animation and Filmmaking to share their story and their voice.

It is my hope and my desire that, through the work of my organization, we are able to bring to as many young people the excitement that comes from sharing your story with the world.

Throughout my life-long search for my own personal fulfillment, I continue to come to the same conclusion: I feel the most complete, joyful, and rewarded when I am focusing my energy on helping others. Fulfilling others fulfills me.

I was born in Mexico City and moved to Los Angeles, CA when I was eight years old. I still visit family in Mexico every couple years, and I feel very fortunate being able to experience the contrasts of life in two different countries. Although I grew up in what we consider a middle-class family, making ends meet was often a challenge and our parents/guardians were busy working hard to support the younger generation. So, I place great value on any amount of time that is devoted toward mentoring, providing resources, and encouraging others to be the very best that they can be. Sometimes, all we need is a little push, and the rest is history.

As adults, we all have the ability to pursue our dreams one way or another. It just requires drive and determination. However, the youth oftentimes do not have the necessary resources to manifest their dreams, particularly those who are not as privileged as others. Though it may sound cliché, I am a firm believer that the children are our future. So, I feel a great responsibility in helping to make this world a better place by starting from the root — by nourishing the seeds that will later grow into the flowers that make this a more beautiful world. I want to dedicate time to guiding and encouraging our youth to come up with a dream and help them see it through to fruition, in turn helping them to think outside the box and, ultimately, dream even bigger with a sense of confidence that they can achieve whatever they put their minds to... This is the footprint that that I want to leave when I depart from this earth.
